On April 23, 2022, the Julien Day Schools celebrated our annual awards ceremony at Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre (EZCC) for the academic years 2019 - 2021 amidst great zest and vibrancy. The programme was hosted by our chairman Mr.J.G. Broughton and co-hosted by Mr Richard Green, TIC of Kalyani Branch.
The ceremony was graced by our Managing Trustee, Mrs. S.E.Broughton, Mrs Sharmila Broughton, Ms. Jessica Broughton, Board of Trustee members, principals, vice principals, teaching and non-teaching staff, students and parents. Amongst the dignitaries present were our Councilor, Mr Asim Bose, Mr. Manpreet Singh Grewal who represented Team India in Basketball on an international level, Former India Women's Basketball Captain, Mrs Jennifer Paes, Producer and Director of Bengali feature films Mr Suman Moitra and celebrity chef Mrs. Sharmistha Dey.

The ceremony commenced with an opening song sung and played by The Julienites, the school band led by our very own Chairman and the school song which was joined by the entire audience. This was followed by the presentation of awards for the various sporting activities and academics.
There were many special categories of awards such as the Late Mrs. Romola Roy Award for the Best Performer in the Junior School and the George Broughton Memorial Shield presented by our Managing Trustee Mrs S.E. Broughton which was won by the Kalyani Branch. Besides the students being awarded, the teaching and non-teaching staff were awarded for regular attendance, Teacher of the Year and 25 years of exemplary service to the school. A student of Ganganagar, Rohan Kar was awarded the most exemplary attendance award for being present all through his schooling years (KG to class X). Upasana Ghosh and Sayantika Sarkar from Ganganagar who ranked 3rd all India in ISC 2020, were awarded for their outstanding academic achievement and contribution to the school.

Scintillating dance performances were put on by the students of the four branches with the background music performed by the Julienites and school students as well which was well received with thunderous applause. But perhaps the most heart touching performance was by the students of the Grace Julien Memorial Free School.

The Principal of Kalyani along with his team was felicitated with a token of appreciation for their contribution towards the Grace Julien Memorial Free School. The ceremony was concluded on a high with a performance by the Julienites Band and the singing of the National Anthem by everyone present.

It was an extraordinary feeling being a part of this grand celebration of the Julien Day School family, witnessing the unity and love the four schools have amongst themselves and I’m sure we will see more of this in the coming year and in upcoming events.
