The Interact Club of Julien Day School, Howrah, successfully organised three meaningful Community Service Welfare Activities, reaffirming the club’s commitment to Service Above Self. Among these initiatives, an Interactive Visit to the Missionaries of Charity Nirmala Shishu Bhavan on 28th November (Friday) stood out as a particularly heart-warming experience for both the Interactors and the children.
1. Interactive Visit to Missionaries of Charity – Nirmala Shishu Bhavan
On 28th November, the Interact Club members spent a memorable afternoon with the underprivileged children at Nirmala Shishu Bhavan. The session was filled with warmth, enthusiasm and shared joy. Interactors conducted a series of engaging activities. The children participated wholeheartedly, and their smiles, laughter and pure excitement reflected how much they cherished the attention, affection and time spent with them. The visit served as a reminder that even small acts of kindness can bring immense happiness and hope to young lives.

2. Book Donation Drive
As part of the welfare activities, the Interact Club organised a Book Donation Drive. Students from various classes contributed generously by donating storybooks, activity and drawing books and textbooks. These books will help create learning opportunities for children who have limited access to reading materials, making education more inclusive and enjoyable.
3. Winter Donation Drive
With winter approaching, the Interact Club undertook a Winter Donation Drive aimed at supporting destitute individuals and underprivileged children. Interactors collected and distributed blankets, sweaters, warm clothing and shawls. These donations brought comfort and warmth to those braving the cold, especially individuals with little protection against harsh weather conditions. Their grateful smiles were a testament to the impact of the students’ generosity.

A Heart-warming Experience of Giving Back
The combined efforts of all students, teachers and parents transformed these initiatives into a resounding success. The children at Nirmala Shishu Bhavan were overwhelmed with joy and their heartfelt reactions showed how deeply they appreciated the kindness extended to them. Every contribution big or small helped spread compassion, hope and comfort.
This initiative beautifully reflected the Interact Club’s dedication to nurturing empathy, responsibility and leadership among students.
Continuing the Spirit of Service
The success of these events stands as a powerful reminder of how collective action and compassion can truly make a difference. The Interact Club remains committed to upholding its core values of service, empathy and community welfare. Thank you to all students, parents, teachers and Interactors for making a real difference. Together, we continue to light the way toward a kinder tomorrow.
