Julien Day Group of Schools believes in the spirit of sports and games and tries to uphold this spirit with a number of events throughout the year. On a bright sunny morning, where participants, the school Management, teachers and students gathered with enthusiasm and excitement, the Inter-Branch Kho-Kho Tournament was played.
The Annual Inter-Branch Girls' Kho-Kho Tournament 2025-26 was held on Saturday, 8th November, 2025 at the Julian Nursery School ground. The four branches of Julien Day School - Kolkata, Ganganagar, Kalyani and Howrah took part in the meet. The Chief Guest for the day was our Managing Trustee Mrs. S. E. Broughton, the Guest of Honour was our Chairman Mr. J. G. Broughton and among the other esteemed guests were Vice-Chairman Mr. Joshua Broughton, Head of Media and Digital Marketing Ms. Jessica Broughton, the Director of Education and Development, Mrs. Mary Ann Smith, Principal Julien Day School Howrah, Mr. Garfield D’Souza, Principal Julien Day School Kalyani, Ms. Joyita Chatterjee, Vice-Principal Julien Day School Kolkata, Mr. Michael James Rebeiro, Principal Julien Day School Ganganagar and Mr Sayantan Mukherjee, Vice-Principal, Julien Day School Ganganagar.
The event began at 10.00 a.m. with the first match played between J.D.S. Ganganagar and J.D.S Kalyani, which was won by Kalyani. The second match was between J.D.S. Howrah and J.D.S. Kolkata, and it was won by J.D.S. Howrah. The third match was between J.D.S. Ganganagar and J.D.S. Kolkata and J.D.S. Ganganagar beat Kolkata. The fourth match was held between J.D.S. Kalyani and J.D.S. Howrah. J.D.S. Howrah emerged victorious. The fifth match, which was between J.D.S. Kalyani and J.D.S. Kolkata, was won by J.D.S. Kalyani. The last match was played between J.D.S. Ganganagar and J.D.S. Howrah; J.D.S. Howrah beat J.D.S. Ganganagar.
The final results were:
Champions –J.D.S. Howrah
2nd – J.D.S. Kalyani
3rd – J.D.S. Ganganagar
4th – J.D.S. Kolkata
Best runner - Swarnali Dutta (Kalyani)
Best chaser - Mariam Musarraf (Howrah)
The event was ably conducted by the officials from the West Bengal Kho-Kho Association. Student volunteers from the host school helped out during the event as well.

The Inter-Branch Kho-Kho Meet came to an end with the Vote-of-thanks, which was delivered by Mr Sayantan Mukherjee, Vice-Principal JDS Ganganagar. The participants and guests were invited for a lunch at the main building of Julien Day School Ganganagar, after which they dispersed from the venue.
The tournament was a testament to confidence, hard work, skill and tenacity. The participants went back with their hearts full of the memories of an enriching and rewarding day.
