Grace Julien Memorial Science Quiz 2026

Science is driven by curiosity, the desire to question, explore and discover. That spirit came alive at the Grace Julien Memorial Inter School Science Quiz Competition 2026, which brought together young science enthusiasts from 14 prominent schools across Kolkata and surrounding regions.

The competition provided students with an exciting platform to test their scientific knowledge, think beyond textbooks and compete alongside some of the brightest young minds from participating schools.

14 Schools, One Exciting Competition

The competition welcomed students from Saifee Golden Jubilee English Public School, St. Thomas Boys' School, Young Horizons School, Julien Day School Ganganagar, St. Helen School, The Park English School, Julien Day School Howrah, St. Paul's Mission School, La Martiniere for Boys Kolkata, Julien Day School Kolkata, Julien Day School Kalyani, South City International School, Mahavir Institute of Education and Research, and Cathedral Mission High School.

The event was inaugurated by Mrs. Sheila Evelyn Broughton, Managing Trustee, with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The programme was also graced by the Vice Chairman, Principal, Vice Principal and Junior Coordinator.

Rohan Book Company Pvt. Ltd. joined the event as the Knowledge Partner, while Mr. Samanway Banerjee, the Quizmaster, kept the competition lively and engaging.

Putting Scientific Knowledge to the Test

The competition began with a Preliminary Round, following which eight schools qualified for the Finale. Julien Day School, Kolkata secured fifth position in the Prelims with 100 points.

The Finale featured seven engaging rounds covering Experiments, Science in 2026, Noble Nuggets, India in Science, an Audio Visual Round, Mixed Bag and the Buzzer Round.

After an exciting contest, South City International School emerged as the Winner with 150 points. Julien Day School, Ganganagar secured the First Runner Up position with 140 points, while La Martiniere for Boys, Kolkata finished as the Second Runner Up with 130 points.

Celebrating Curiosity and Learning

The Grace Julien Memorial Inter School Science Quiz Competition 2026 was about much more than answering questions correctly. It encouraged students to think quickly, explore science beyond the classroom and experience the excitement of learning with their peers.
